It's 2016, the job market is shrinking, and student debt is at an all time high. More than ever, Universities must use funds for the things that matter and cut out unnecessary costs.
In February of 2016, the Oakland University administration and Board of Trustees, a total of 43 individuals, went on a trip to Florida. For this business trip, they spent $155,000 in student tuition dollars on plane tickets, lodging, and dining.
We believe that not a single student dollar should be spent to send administrators away from our school to handle business in private. Thus, this petition is to demand that money be spent right. Sign this petition if you stand for the right use of student dollars by your University. Sign if you believe that administrators can meet about business without spending exorbitant sums. Sign if you know that student debt is already high enough without Universities squandering dollars on unnecessary Florida trips.
If you think that Universities should spend tuition dollars on students, the individuals who matter most, then your signature belongs on this petition.
