Wall Township High School in New Jersey took it upon themselves to photoshop the yearbook not once, not twice, but three times to censor logos and quotes related to President Trump. The students did not violate any dress code. Instead, the administrators are targeting them for their political views.
Grant Berardo and Wyatt Debrovich-Fago both wore Trump shirts on picture day. When the yearbooks arrived, the students opened them up to find that their photos had been edited to remove the Trump logos. Wyatt’s sister, Montana, had submitted a Donald Trump quote to go with her picture in the yearbook; it was not included in the printed yearbook.
The parents of these students are now asking for the yearbook to be reprinted, expressing that “it was a violation of someone’s First Amendment rights and there was censorship.” The yearbook’s club advisor, Susan Parsons, has been suspended, but that does nothing for the students who were wronged by the censorship.
