California’s Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) refuses to release security camera footage of three robberies and two assaults that have happened on the transit system. Why? Political correctness.
A memo from BART states that releasing the footage would “unfairly affect and characterize riders of color.” Top officials fear “creat[ing] racial bias in the riders against minorities on the trains.” Unedited video is not biased. It simply shows events as they occurred.
BART thinks that visual facts might offend people, and is therefore withholding evidence of crimes.
