On June 18, 2020 the Mayor of Tampa Jane Castor issued an executive
order making face coverings MANDATORY when out in public. Prior to this date,
wearing a face covering was VOLUNTARY.
Healthy people do not need to wear face coverings and should not be
discriminated against or humiliated. There are plenty of experts who say face
coverings are harmful and restrict breathing.
Here is the enforcement section of the Executive order.
"Pursuant to Sec. 252.46, Florida
Statute, this Order shall have the full force and effect of law, and pursuant
to Sec. 2-403, City of Tampa Code, a violation of this Order shall be a
noncriminal civil infraction, enforceable under Sec. 1-6 and Sec. 23.5-4, City
of Tampa Code, which carries a penalty of up to a $500 fine."
This will cause more harm than good for peoples health and will
impact the economy that is trying to recover from the lockdown.
coverings reduce intake of oxygen, leading to carbon dioxide toxicity
are trapped near your mouth and nose, increasing risk of infection
a face covering causes you to touch your face more frequently
is no scientific evidence that supports healthy people wearing face
coverings obscure your facial features and impede normal social
coverings make it hard for hearing-impaired people to understand you
coverings symbolize suppression of speech
To Jane Castor, City of Tampa Mayor:
We the people of Tampa, FL demand you immediately repeal the harmful health order making wearing face coverings MANDATORY. The order is an infringement of personal liberty and our right to choose what do with our bodies. The Mayor is NOT my personal doctor and does NOT have any right to put my health at risk by forcing me to wear a harmful face covering. Citizens who refuse to wear face coverings can face a fine up to $500. This is discrimination against healthy people, and NO form of discrimination should be supported by The City of Tampa.
