Oregon, like much of the rest of the country, has citizens who are struggling to make ends meet. We have folks who have been displaced by the actions of the current Federal Administration; many who through no fault of their own are on the verge of, or currently homeless.
Oregon's intermittent Governor, Kate Brown, has chosen to side with ther liberal states to accept illegal immigrants as well as Syrian refugees, to be funded by Oregon taxpayers.
Until such time that these refugees can be properly vetted, the Governor has no moral right to open the floodgates to illegals and refugees who will live off the public dole, while there are citizens of Oregon who are out of jobs, hungry, and homeless.
If, as the President says, ISIS is contained, then there should be no reason for those refugees to come here. We certainly don't need another Paris in our backyard.
Compassion is one thing, but we need to use it on those who live here, and can prove their legal status.
To Governor Kate Brown of Oregon:
I normally don't get involved in petitions, but as a conservative in a blue state (which I love dearly), I feel compelled to author this one.
I have no stomach for impeachment proceedings and would much rather see you change your mind in this matter, for the safety, protection, and betterment of the citizens of Oregon. However, if you're unwilling to listen to those of us who are concerned about this matter, I will not hesitate to take part in promoting impeachment proceedings.
Please reconsider your decision regarding the acceptance of refugees without any vetting process. We don't need another Paris in our backyard.
