Jordan Cataldo is a teacher at Carter G. Woodson Elementary School in Jacksonville, Florida. She allegedly went on a racist tirade – in front of a class of students – saying that that black students are “rats” that could “infest the class.” She continued on, saying that “they’re only going to amount to be a bunch of ratchet Walmart workers,” and “that’s why their race is either dead or in jail.”
Tiera Ross, the mother of a student at Carter G. Woodson, is fighting for Duval County Public Schools to dismiss Cataldo. Thus far, the school district’s only remarks have been that they will “take appropriate action in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement when school resumes for the 2017-2018 school year.” This is not enough. Cataldo must go.
