We must do more to protect our military from attacks like the one that what happened in Chattanooga last week. Recently, a radicalized Islamic extremist targeted a military recruitment center, shooting it up before moving onto a second military site to kill at least five Marines. These attacks could be neutralized if the military personnel could legally carry their firearms with them at the recruitment office; unfortunately, it’s not. It is currently against the law to carry a firearm on military bases or at recruitment centers—even with a permit.
President Obama should have gotten the message by now that this law is outdated and it needs to be changed immediately in order to protect our men and woman in uniform. They are part of the best equipped and best trained military on the planet and yet they aren’t allowed to carry these weapons on base or at recruitment centers—areas that are clearly targets of terrorists? That’s just absurd!
Tell Obama it’s time he did something RIGHT and allow our men and women in uniform to carry weapons so that a tragedy like the one in Chattanooga never happens again.
