The Florida Department of Children and Families took custody of baby Liberty Belle Phillips from her mother Davida, due to Davida’s drug addiction.
Baby Liberty was placed with Davida’s brother and his wife, Keenan and Ginger Phillips. Liberty Belle finally had a loving and stable environment, and she grew attached to her new caregivers.
Nearly a year later, Duval County Judge David Gooding took Baby Liberty away from Keenan and Ginger Phillips. NEWS4JAX reported: “Liberty’s biological parents -- a drug addict and convicted abuser, who were found by the state to be a harm to the baby -- had suddenly filed motions to surrender their parental rights and move custody of Liberty permanently to Bradley [Liberty’s father]’s brother – Christopher Hornback.”
On the day Baby Liberty was placed with Hornback, he had an outstanding warrant for domestic violence charges.
Liberty is also around her biological father
in this new setting, despite a DCF claim that he is a threat to her safety.
Keenan and Ginger Phillips are trying to regain custody of Baby Liberty. For this to happen, Duval County Judge David Gooding must reverse his ruling.#savingbabyliberty
