Mrs. Lindsey is a special education teacher at Nutter Fort Primary School. A viral video shows her taking a microphone away from a child with autism during a school play - and she has received threats, bullying, and harassment as a result.
The video doesn't show that Mrs. Lindsey was only trying to protect the child from embarrassment since the play was over and he wasn't supposed to be speaking at that time, and she had no way of knowing what he would say. Other kids had been rehearsing for weeks, but the child was added to the show at the last minute (at the insistence of his parents, who invented his role but never signed his permission slip for rehearsal). Those parents are leading the social media effort against Mrs. Lindsey.
The harassment has become so overwhelming that the school superintendent made a video statement: "It's a mistake that was made. There was no malice. This teacher, as all of our teachers, truly care about these young boys and girls. The program was over, at least as I understand, and the teacher had taken the microphone."
An innocent woman has been a victim of harassment, bullying, misrepresentation and defamation of character. Her character and morality is under attack, and it's time that other voices are heard. Support Mrs. Lindsey by signing now!
