Madison NJ Town counsel : Fight the 44 units! Keep CAS from overcrowding.
This petition is now closed.
The town is voting to put in 44 affordable housing units where the current civic center is - right behind Central Avenue School. If this goes in, not only will it be an unbelievable traffic burden with 88 more cars going down Cook and Walnut during CAS drop off. It will also mean an influx of students into our already overburdened CAS classrooms. While understanding the town is required to provide affordable housing. 44 units in that location is just too many. Our goal is to get the density reduced to avoid overcrowding the local roads during drop off and Central Avenue School.
To Madison NJ Town counsel:
I want to thank to the Mayor and elected officials for listening to our concerns .
Though I believe the location was not the right one due to the concerns expressed, The affordable housing issue is a difficult problem that is not going away. As residents we need to work with Council on solutions to this problem. I applaud the Mayor and Council for their efforts in protecting Madison from overdevelopment. They are unpaid volunteers that give countless hours to meetings. We should all remember this and treat all the members of Council with respect. Everyone's opinion is valid and should be heard. I am proud to live in a town where our elected officials listen to our concerns..
