Since President Trump’s campaign for office, rioters across America have broken windows, set fire to buildings, and blocked highways for ambulances, thus forcing paramedics to operate on a fatally ill patients. This anarchic conduct directly violates 18 U.S. Code § 2101 which states that organizing and/or participating in a riot is a punishable offense resulting in fines, imprisonment up to five years, or both.
Violent disrupters who participate in riots must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law because their thoughtless crimes jeopardize the well being of innocent Americans.
How long will uncivilized rioters be allowed to burn property, attack women with Make America Great Again hats, and endanger the lives of law-abiding Americans?
Who will hold these people accountable for their irresponsible and deadly conduct?
Rioters erroneously believe that the First Amendment grants them leeway to run amok. The First Amendment permits the right to peaceably assemble. The commission of assault and arson is the antithesis of peaceful assembly.
It is time for law enforcement to arrest every individual who participates in a riot. These crimes can be tolerated no longer. Rioters must be taken into custody and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
